As SXSW advances, NMB have created a nice little list to keep you amused throught these hard times. Keep those GI Joe Eagle Eyes on this lot over the summer, it promises to be a pretty damn awesome festival season. Here's the rundown - hit the links for New Music Blog recommended tunes:

1. St Vincent - If this tune ends up on a T Mobile advert I will bite off my thumb and replace this entire list with Scouting For Girls.

2. Friendly Fires - Already set for the Big Chill, these guys have such huge tunes like Paris & Skeleton Boy that they literally cannot fail. Or can they? No.

3. Crystal Antlers - Hot in the blogosphere, crap name, awesome tunes.

 

4. Phoenix - An already huge yet cult following has kept Phoenix as Europe's best kept secret. We reckon something on new album WOLFGANG AMADEUS PHOENIX will kick things wide open.

 

5. Dan Black - First up for the Calvin Harris Award For Becoming Famous With Popular-At-Festivals Electro Pop.

6. Ted & Francis - Calvin Harris Award For Becoming Famous With Popular-At-Festivals Electro Pop contender number 2: these guys. Maybe a bit too Australian though.

7. The Twelves - Surely 2009 is the Year of the Twelves? No? 2010?

8. Lies In Disguise - Sure Le Castle Vania will make something big out of this summer, we're hoping it will be side project Lies In Disguise. Might be, might not.

9. Handsome Furs - That's Hansel, he's so hot right now.

10. The Virgins - Who said the french weren't early adopters. EVERYONE. So how come The Virgins are on Radio LeFrog playlists and not ours? C'est bizarre, non?
