New Music Event: Hospitality @ Fabric, Jan 6th 2012

New Music Event | Hospitality @ Fabric

Well it might be a bit bigger than Digital in Brighton, but Fabric is every bit as messy in the main room. This Friday will see some big names take the controls so make sure you're there. Tickets are sold out (boo) but there are, apparently, 1000 on the door. I've got mine but my friends don't so I'll be queueing up with you. Here's the highlights (and by highlights, I mean more or less the whole damn list):

High Contrast | Camo & Krooked | S.P.Y. |  Cyantific | Nu:Tone | Logistics | Fred V & Grafix | Azonica | 16 Bit | TC | Joe Syntax | Blu Mar Ten

Camo & Krooked - All Fall Down

New Music | Camo & Krooked

Fine. I give in. This above pair of cheeky Austrians, Camo & Krooked, are a guilty pleasure and, even though a lot of their tunes sound like a slightly angrier version of Does It Offend You, Yeah?'s Epic Last Song, I still like it. So there. And Hospital Records are rarely wrong anyway so I feel somewhat backed up in this (possibly completely wrong) opinion.

Emeli Sandé - Heaven (Nu:Tone Remix)

New Music | Nu:Tone

It's actually a pretty tasty original mix, if you like that sort of thing. But Nu:Tone brings it up a notch and it's another piece of liquid loveliness from one of Hospital Records' finest. The chords are obviously very, very Massive Attack, but what's wrong with that, eh?

London Elektricity - Just One Second (Apex VIP)

New Music | London Elektricity

Oh hiya! Yeah been busy. So have you. Deal with it. Now you know on that incredibly rare occasion when someone covers or remixes a tune and it actually turns out better, well this is one of them. Those. Like Michael Jackson's version of Come Together, which I swear I've banged on about before at some point. What was always an awesome tune, London Elektricity's Just One Second is now he-aw-ge, thanks to Apex.

Netsky - Eyes Closed

New Music | Netsky

My obsession with Hospital Records continues. If you don't already, go own the album. You need it, in a way. Anyway. Along with all the usual suspects at Global, Netsky stood out as a real gem, along with only a handful of others which we'll discuss later. The chord progression in Eyes Closed actually reminds me of the Nero remix of The Streets - In The Middle. So it's off to a good start, and keeps getting better.
