Sometimes you hear middle 8's in house music and you just know what's going to happen. Cut the treble, cut the middle, slowly bring them back in, beat mash then break. Job done. But I love how Aurora breaks the mould, the Baywatch drums come from nowhere after a 1 minute hiatus.

It's only taken him about 8 million years to put together but Part IV has been well worth the wait. Check it out. And did you know that Fred actually beat Nero to it in sampling Crush On You by The Jets - on his first release with Alan Braxe - Intro. There you go, some nice pop triv on a Tuesday evening.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.newmusicblog.co.uk/blog/new-music-event-hospitality-fabric-jan-6th-2012.html"><rss:title>New Music Event: Hospitality @ Fabric, Jan 6th 2012</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.newmusicblog.co.uk/blog/new-music-event-hospitality-fabric-jan-6th-2012.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>DnB Fabric Hospital Records Hospitality New Music New Music Event</dc:subject>

New Music Event | Hospitality @ Fabric

Well it might be a bit bigger than Digital in Brighton, but Fabric is every bit as messy in the main room. This Friday will see some big names take the controls so make sure you're there. Tickets are sold out (boo) but there are, apparently, 1000 on the door. I've got mine but my friends don't so I'll be queueing up with you. Here's the highlights (and by highlights, I mean more or less the whole damn list):

Fine. I give in. This above pair of cheeky Austrians, Camo & Krooked, are a guilty pleasure and, even though a lot of their tunes sound like a slightly angrier version of Does It Offend You, Yeah?'s Epic Last Song, I still like it. So there. And Hospital Records are rarely wrong anyway so I feel somewhat backed up in this (possibly completely wrong) opinion.

Reminds me a bit of Cam'ron - Hey Ma. Remember that? Strawpedoed many an orange Reef to that tune back in the day. I'm such a classy guy. Anyway this is, of course, much better. A little bit Kanye but there's nowt wrong with that, and the beat is so laid back it's almost horizontal. Perfect for a nice slow Thursday.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.newmusicblog.co.uk/blog/gotye-ft-kimbra-somebody-that-i-used-to-know-myndset-remix.html"><rss:title>Gotye ft Kimbra - Somebody That I Used To Know (Myndset Remix)</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.newmusicblog.co.uk/blog/gotye-ft-kimbra-somebody-that-i-used-to-know-myndset-remix.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Electro Gotye Myndset New Music Remix Somebody That I Used To Know</dc:subject>

New Music | Gotye | Myndset

Gotye has actually been releasing albums since 2003, and he's still coming out with some pretty awesome new tunes today. The original mix of this track Somebody That I Used To Know is good, but this remix by one of LA's hottest talents Myndset, is off the scale. It's chilled, it's electro, it's got male and female vocals, it's got a start, a beginning, and an end. Niiiice.

</rss:item><rss:item rdf:about="http://www.newmusicblog.co.uk/blog/sub-focus-ft-kenzie-may-falling-down.html"><rss:title>Sub Focus ft Kenzie May - Falling Down</rss:title><rss:link>http://www.newmusicblog.co.uk/blog/sub-focus-ft-kenzie-may-falling-down.html</rss:link>

<dc:subject>Dubstep Electronic Falling Down Festivals Global Gathering Kenzie May New Music Sub Focus</dc:subject>

New Music | Sub Focus | Kenzie May

Well if the video to Falling Down doesn't make you want to go to Global Gathering 2012 then I don't know what would. I love the crossover between the electronic genres happening right now. Pure dubstep can be really grimy. Which can be good when you're underground, surrounded by half naked sweaty pikeys. But with headphones on some nice ambient chords are always going to go down a treat. Annnnnnnd reintroducing Mr Sub Focus, ladies and gents.
FIT. And I don't just mean Jess Mills. Only some really high quality in ear headphones or a washing machine size sub can really do this MJ Cole remix of Vultures justice. Or maybe the speaker floor at Proud2. I could go on I suppose, but I won't.
It's actually a pretty tasty original mix, if you like that sort of thing. But Nu:Tone brings it up a notch and it's another piece of liquid loveliness from one of Hospital Records' finest. The chords are obviously very, very Massive Attack, but what's wrong with that, eh?

I came across Kill The Noise after the collab with Feed Me on Muscle Rollers. I love how this title track gets you all comfortable with some nice melodic synths, then the drop comes and gets your bass face out from nowhere. Not that a shiny black skull with massive purple crystals for eyes is particularly traditional Christmas decoration, but i reckon it would look pretty awesome hanging off your front door. Don't cha think?

</rss:item></rdf:RDF>
