Mothlite - The One in the Water

Post a Comment Not being of the most stable disposition, I would usually steer clear of music that places me on the edge of a panic attack but Mothlite’s music is so immediately arresting and beautiful that it’s well worth the risk. In fact, I would go as far as to say that I’d happily have the panic attack, figuratively curled up under the bracken on a damp forest floor, only to emerge a stronger and more attuned individual, probably some kind of druid. Just saying.
Comprised of Daniel O’Sullivan (multi-instrument composer from London who has written and performed with the likes of SUNN O))) and ULVER) and Antti Uusimaki, a producer from Helsinki, Mothlite weave a rich and unsettling tapestry not unlike early Pink Floyd meanderings focused through the eyes of Mark Hollis scoring a soundtrack. All kinds of good essentially.
Catch them live at Twisted Licks @ The Macbeth, London on Saturday 20th June or Standon Calling Festival on the 1st August...until then enjoy The One in the Water from their stunning album The Flax of Reverie...
